Fake mail by UPS manager, virus filled E-mail

Today, I received a fake mail from UPS manager, telling that they failed to deliver my parcel to my address, and want me to pickup the parcel at the post office. It require you to download and print the attachment for the shipping label.

Funny is that, in the email, it say please do not reply to this e-mail because it is an unmonitored mailbox. Now the UPS manager is telling he is crap.

Do not open this email or even download the attachment, it is virus filled!

I decompressed the zip and got an executable file. Reputedly from UPS Manager Karyn Woodall. Not working on a PC so trashed everything. My request for explanation returned undeliverable.

gurdjiev – you have likely executed a virus on your pc, which would now be infected. you need to download a good antivirus program (avg free is ok, and free) and run it.

this virus email seems to be getting through a lot of good filtering…

as a rule of thumb NEVER EVER EXECUTE EXE FILES THAT COME IN FROM EMAIL.

@gurdjiev Like Casey Ellis said, your pc might infected, because I am getting a warning message when I download the zip file. A good anti-virus is a need on your pc. I use kaspersky anti-virus.

@casey ellis I like your rule of thumb, great tips!
